The Update
I’ve been posting regularly on YouTube and the audience is actually shrinking. Uh, I don’t think it’s the algorithm. I think my content is just wrong.
I’m struggling to find how to present it properly, and if I’m in a groove, at what point do you put it there, and is it complete, and is something incomplete not great, and all that kind of stuff?
I see a lot of people blame the algorithm, or bitch about this, or bitch about that. And then there’s a lot of hot tips on how to make your stuff look and sound like everybody else.
Finding my own voice, look and feel, is going to take a while. I have a bunch of ideas that I’m gonna try, and then when something works, go with it. But remain being myself.
It’s funny when you post stuff, YouTube will now give you comments and, again, try to make it to where it’s most watchable. And I think you have to pay attention to that.
Like, I pay attention to readership on this blog, and when it intersects kind of universality, music, and then something else, it seems to really work. And I get a lot of reads that way.
But it’s not… you pay attention, but you still have to say what you want to say. Because they’re your true thoughts. And, uh, you don’t want to shitpost like on LinkedIn where you’re just making stuff up that’s clickable.
So, like anything else, it’s just going to take a lot of time and patience.
But I said I would update the blog. That’s the update. Traffic is declining. Trying a bunch of different stuff. We’ll see what hits.
But I’m not stopping because ultimately when I share the channel with somebody who’s looking for information from me, I’ve got what is actual work, not, hey, I just posted a video because somebody’s gonna look, but there’s enough there to where they can say, okay, this is a person who does what they said they do.

I mean that’s who I used to be, and I think that’s what I’m hanging my hat on right now.
