Songwriting Semester: Two Singles
I just finished the songwriting semester, where we spend eight weeks writing songs and showing them to other members of the group. Interestingly enough, only one person in the whole group consistently listened.
Ever since Covid this has really been slipping. This is a new low, but never mind, because I did get plenty of listens — up to 3,000 a month — so that is really good for me on SoundCloud.
Out of eight songs I got two— maybe two and a half (one is kind of a half song).
Two out of eight is a really good ratio if you are trying to figure out that in your own life. I could not really tell until I listened back today, so I am really happy with the results.
I think this is the first time in a couple years that I have stuck with it and actually finished demos of songs with words. This is about to roll into January where I do make an instrumental track a day, so it gives me some real confidence and quite a boost.
But at the end of the day, getting these done is such a big mental deal for me because I have not written songs with words consistently for over two years. Feeling really good here.
