Plug-in Season
When I am looking at plug-ins, there seems to be a lot of industry bias. It is hard during the Black Friday time of year because everything is on sale and everything looks good and everything looks like it is really going to help you. But when I listen to sound demos, and then I think about the stuff I already own, and then I look at the stuff that runs natively in Ableton or whatever I happen to be using that month, I cannot hear any difference.
And I have good ears. I can be a good judge when I want to be. I have really good bass tone, I think, and I cannot tell the difference between that and any of these plug-ins. I do not know. Is it me? I feel like it is just straight marketing.
I almost bought a complete soft tube pack for Ableton. I think I have stuff that does this better and sounds the same. I never know. I just do not know how many delay plug-ins a person needs. Does anything sound better than anything else?
