Energy Waves Not Songs
Regarding my electronica set for my 45 minute show next week.
Feels like this is really a combination of everything I’ve been working on and with the release and kind of with what I’ve been thinking set wise it all sort of comes together here.
I’m rolling in with a drum kit, hi hats with movement, chord track, and a lead, all on the Push 3. The Minitaur will run into the Push 3 and out to the house. For back-up I’ve got practice recorded with the SP-404mkII so I have a bunch of stuff I can basically DJ the record if I need to or whatever, it doesn’t really matter.
I feel really confident in this rig.
The chords are talking to the bass track and then I just have to stay on top of my keys with the lead. I’m going to try to use voice leading to go movement to movement so it feels connected instead of like a hard jump. It’s going to be all new jams with some lead lines floating on top.
I’m super excited.
If there’s any interest I’ll post the set. It’s all Ableton stuff so you should be able to figure out what’s going on. I’m using the Perfromace Pack's variation function where I can have a couple saved states to go back to for safety at a couple points in the set, just in case.
