a Tuesday #2? post it anyway

My second Tuesday video is out this morning, and I used a quote from somebody on YouTube. That video is right here. Rather than not post at all, I just posted it to see what would happen An artistic kind-of stand for just getting stuff done. If it gets taken down, great. If somebody complains, great. He typically allows everybody to use his stuff because he just wants the message to spread, so I’m not too worried about it, but I think the most important thing is getting stuff done.

I haven’t found the time that I want to do as many of these jams, so I just want to make sure stuff is getting out. Again, at the end of the day it’s about sharing, and more importantly, progress. I do a little better when I think somebody’s watching, and I take it more seriously and a little better music gets made, so you, world are my guinea pig, and I’m using you. I’m guessing everybody’s OK with that.

As far as the song, it’s just a two chord progression. I meant to start about 20 BPM faster, but by the time I realized where I was, I was about five minutes into it, and also I wasn’t super happy with the grandmother patch, but again I just kind of went with it. I could feel that was the time that the video was going to happen.

A couple clams on the lead track for realism, but I continue to be happy with this. I’m updating Sting2 this morning as it came out with a new algorithm for bass, so I look forward to seeing what that’s all about.

And my obsession with the 303 continues. I sold a Cyclone Analogic 303 machine a while back, and just I re-bought it direct from France. They’ve gone out of stock over here. I don’t know if they’re going to go away, but I want to have one just in case. Basically it;s a hardware version of Iftah's Sting2.

Hope you guys are enjoying the videos. I think just like everything, it’s a slow burn, but I’m going to try to get these better and then a bit tighter. You tend to hit the algorithms in your favor—if your stuff is good. Imagine that.
